Family of Victim of Mudslide Death Awarded $4 million from City of Mill Valley

The Supreme Court has decided that Mill Valley must pay four million dollars to the spouse and daughter of  Walter Guthrie–a man that was killed in his home in 2006 as a result of a mudslide. The jury concluded that City of Mill Valley was responsible, as they were aware of that the hill was slipping, but did not take adequate measures to ensure the safety of their citizens.
